Honorable William P. Joyce
Managing Director
William P. Joyce Esq. retired as an Immigration Judge in the United States Immigration Court in July 2002. Prior to becoming an Immigration Judge, Judge Joyce served as Legal Counsel to the Chief Immigration Judge who supervised 210 Immigration Judges throughout the United States. In that capacity, Judge Joyce worked closely with other branches in the Justice Department and Congress in complex legal matters affecting the Immigration Court.
Judge Joyce was also an Assistant United States Attorney of the Eastern District of Virginia, the Associate General Counsel of INS, and worked under Bill Weld at the United States Attorney Office in Boston. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and the Georgetown University Law School.
Judge Joyce serves as Managing Director of Joyce and Associates. He has personally represented clients in extremely complex immigration cases with excellent results. These cases range from detained criminal aliens to individuals seeking relief through family and business petitions. He also can provide detailed analysis of individual cases with the likelihood of success. Further, Judge Joyce is actively involved in our business practice both in the obtaining of business visas and providing technical assistance to companies with compliance with immigrant requirements.

Michele Kane
Associate
Kane H. Kane, Esq. has been with Joyce & Associates, P.C. since 2004. She has successfully represented clients in a wide range of immigration matters before various Immigration Courts as well as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Ms. Kane has experience handling complex litigation before the immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the U.S. District Court and U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal. Ms. Kane received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. While at BUSL, Ms. Kane clerked at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and served as Managing Editor of the Boston University Law Review. Ms. Kane worked as an Asylum Representation Project Intern at the International Institute of Boston, helping to staff the walk-in immigration clinic and assisting in the representation of clients seeking asylum. She has also volunteered with the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation Project. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Kane worked at the Center for International Development at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Ms. Kane is fluent in Spanish and Hebrew and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association.

Megan Kludt Associate
Megan E. Kludt, Esq. received a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Boston University College of Arts & Sciences. She received a Juris Doctor with a concentration in International Law from Boston University School of Law. Ms. Kludt has experience at immigration law firms in New York City, the Detroit area of Michigan, and Boston. She handles a wide range of employment-based immigration cases, with a special expertise in labor certification applications. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and conversant in Cambodian. Ms. Kludt is admitted to practice law in Michigan and Massachusetts.

Edward Farwell Associate
Edward G. Farwell, Esq. received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in French from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts and his Juris Doctor from Northeastern University in Boston. Mr. Farwell also studied at the Centre International des Etudes Françaises at l’Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France. While at NUSL, Mr. Farwell assisted victims of trafficking in persons at Break the Chain Campaign, a Washington, D.C. nonprofit. He also served at the U.S. Immigration Court (EOIR) in Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Farwell has experience at private law firms handling immigration and labor relations matters. Mr. Farwell speaks fluent French. Mr. Farwell is admitted to practice law in New York.

Christina Baker
Associate
Christina Baker, Esq. received her Juris Doctor, with a concentration in international and comparative law, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in international law and diplomacy (with a minor in Spanish studies) from Brigham Young University. While in law school, Ms. Baker served as Annotations Editor for the Cardozo Journal of Law and Gender where she published her own article, and served as a founding board member of the Students for Human Rights group. She participated in the immigration law clinic at Cardozo, as well as in the human rights and genocide clinic, and was a fellow with the Cardozo Program in Human Rights and Holocaust Studies. While in law school, Ms. Baker spent a summer in Lima, Peru doing research on post-conflict reconciliation and prepared a case submitted to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. She also spent a summer in Vienna, Austria assisting Iranian religious minorities obtain refugee status in the U.S. Prior to law school Ms. Baker interned with the American Immigration Law Foundation in Washington, DC in their public education program. She has lived in various countries, and speaks fluent Spanish, fluent Greek, and proficient French.

Julie Endy
Associate
Julie A. Endy received her Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Ms. Endy first joined Joyce & Associates as a law clerk while in law school. By the time she joined the firm as an attorney, she already had considerable experience working on a wide range of complex litigation matters before various Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and Circuit Courts of Appeals. While in law school, Ms. Endy also worked as an intern at the Boston College Immigration and Asylum Project, and at Catholic Charities Refugee and Immigration Services in Boston, where she helped advocate for refugees and victims of domestic violence. Ms. Endy also spent a summer at the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation Project. Before law school, Ms. Endy worked in the government benefits unit at the Legal Aid Society in New York City. She has lived abroad in Guatemala and Zimbabwe, and is proficient in Spanish.

Paige Walkler
Paralegal
Paige Walker graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a minor in Community and International Development. During her first two years at the university, she traveled to Guatemala and Honduras to participate in various volunteer efforts. She spent a semester studying in Barcelona, Spain before graduating in 2006 as a John Dewey Scholar with Honors, having written her undergraduate thesis in Spanish. Paige is fluent in Spanish.

Lauren Goldstein
Paralegal
Lauren Goldstein graduated from Brandeis University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American and Latino/a Studies with a minor in Spanish Language and Literature. During and after graduating from college, Ms. Goldstein made various trips to Ecuador studying Quichua, social movements, and volunteering as an ESOL teacher. Prior to joining Joyce & Associates, Ms. Goldstein gained experience as an immigration paralegal at the non-profit organization Centro Presente. Ms. Goldstein is fluent in Spanish.

Stephanie Galaitsis
Paralegal
Stephanie Galaitsis graduated from Carleton College with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern History. As an undergraduate, Ms. Galaitsis spent a semester in Morocco and a summer in Yemen studying Arabic, and conducted research for her senior thesis in Cairo, Egypt. In 2006 she interned with the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants in Boston. Ms. Galaitsis is fluent in French, and proficient in Arabic.

Glaucimone Dejesus

Glaucimone de Jesus was born in Brazil, when she was thirteen years old she moved to Boston MA. In the summer of 2006 she graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, received a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Philosophy with a Minor in Political Science. Before graduating from UMASS Boston, Glaucimone worked at Harrington Law Offices an Immigration Firm in Boston, and in the summer of 2008 she received a certificate in Paralegal Studies from Boston University. Before Joining Joyce and Associates, Glaucimone worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts as a Member Services Representative.

Danielle Liu graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She also received a Certificate of Paralegal Studies from Boston University. Prior to coming to the United States, Ms. Liu was a school superintendent in Hunan Province, China. She is fluent in Mandarin.

Hong Shen graduated from People’s University of China with a Master degree in Law. She was admitted to practice law in China, where she worked as a judge assistant at a court in Hubei Province for several years. She received a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Ms. Shen is fluent in Mandarin.

Jose Miranda
Office Manager
Jose was born and raised in Brazil. He attended one year of Business Administration at U.N.A and one year of Engineering at E. Eng. Kennedy, Brazil. Prior to coming to the United States, he was a General Branch Manager of a Federal Bank, where he worked for more than 17 years. He is also a technician in automobile from SENAI-F.I.E.M.G, Brazil. He is fluent in English and Portuguese.

Young Yu
Accountant
Young Yu was born in South Korea and came to the United States when he was 16 years old. He graduated from Brandeis University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Prior to joining Joyce & Associates, P.C. in 2006, Mr. Yu worked in retail banking for six years. He is fluent in Korean and English.

Marcia Shannon
Office Coordinator

Marcia Shannon was born in Brazil. She attended two years of college majoring in Biology and Pharmacy at F.S.T. She is a certified Portuguese Medical Interpreter from Harvard P.H.F. and a certified legal interpreter from C.C.C.S. Prior to working with Joyce & Associates, Ms. Shannon worked as a Pier Diem Portuguese Interpreter for Shriners Children Hospital in Boston and other hospitals and District courts in MA. Ms. Shannon is fluent in English, Portuguese and is proficient in Spanish.
